Vahan
Heritage, Craft, and the Art of the Stack
VAHAN begins in Paris, where founder Sacha Der Calousdian was raised in a family of jewelers designing one-of-a-kind pieces for high society. After formal training and time with houses like Hermès and Cartier, he brought that lineage to the U.S., launching what is now a 55+ year family-run brand.
VAHAN is about love—for the craft, for the wearer, and for the moment a piece becomes part of someone’s everyday life. What started as a one-man Manhattan studio has evolved into a nationally recognized name in fine jewelry, without losing its hands-on, sketch-first approach. Every piece is still made in New York.
VAHAN is instantly recognizable for its Moiré beading, a richly textured metal pattern that catches light with subtle movement, along with its signature crown motif—a nod to strength and femininity. Sylvie’s story begins in Antwerp, Belgium—the diamond capital of the world—where founder Sylvie Levine grew up immersed in a family legacy of diamond craftsmanship. But entering a male-dominated industry, she saw an opportunity to create a bridal brand that speaks from a woman’s perspective.
That vision became the foundation of the Sylvie Collection.
Built alongside her husband Ian, a diamond merchant, the company has grown into a multi-generational family business, now including their sons. Even as it evolves, it remains grounded in the same principle that jewelry should reflect the wearer, not define them.
Sylvie pieces are known for their balance of modern and timeless design, achieved through clean lines, thoughtful proportions, and a deep understanding of how jewelry is worn.
